When should You Request Material & Equipment?
You may request material and equipment once you or one of your technicians identifies the need for additional parts they do not currently have to complete a job.
Getting Started
You can initiate a request for material and equipment in two ways:
- By instructing your technician to check out of the job, mark it as return trip needed, and follow the “Parts, materials, or equipment needed” flow through their DMG Pro tech app.
OR - By initiating the request for material and equipment within the job details page in your DMG Pro Control Center. You can access a specific job from your "My Jobs" page - click into the job you want to modify.
Raising the Request
1. Once you are in the job details page, click Modify Job.
2. Select "Need Material and Equipment" from the drop down.
3. Provide the details of your request, including:
- an explanation for why additional material and/or equipment is needed
- the type of material and/or equipment that needs to be sourced
- the date by which you would be able to acquire the material and/or equipment and finish the work onsite
- any photos or documents you may have to support your request
4. Once you have provided all necessary details, click Submit to send your request to DMG.
5. Once submitted, the request is listed as an "In Progress" task within the job until a member of our team takes action* on your request.
-
If you are approved to source the material and/or equipment yourself:
- the status of the task will change to "Done"
- you can review the approval message and any additional response added by our team
- the schedule date will change to the date you selected while raising the request
-
If it is decided that the customer or DMG is to source the material and/or equipment:
- you can review our reply back to you explaining that we/the customer will be sourcing the parts
- the status of the task will remain "In Progress" until a member of our team confirms that the parts are arriving on time (once confirmed, the status of the task will change to "Done")
- the schedule date will change to the date by which we have confirmed the parts are to arrive
Requesting Material & Equipment that could impact your NTE?
If the material and/or equipment you are requesting to acquire would push the cost of the job to exceed your NTE, raise a request to increase the NTE instead. Review how to request an NTE increase here.
Want to Cancel Your Request?
If you wish to cancel your request before it is finalized by a member of our team, click into the in progress task, then click "Cancel Request." The status of the task will change to "Cancelled" and no changes will be made to the scheduled date and time.
When can't You Request Material & Equipment?
You cannot raise a request for material and equipment if the job has already been marked complete.
