Typically, we require every technician that arrives onsite to complete a non-routine job to log their individual onsite activity within the DMG Pro technician app on their individual phone. However, DMG is launching a new feature for non-routine landscaping jobs to streamline the check in process for landscaping crews: crew photos.
Instead of having each member of your team check into and out of the same job within the DMG Pro technician app, only one member of the crew needs to use the app. During the check in process, the individual using the app will take a picture of the crew – our app will automatically count the number of crew members in your group.
Please note: Our crew photo feature does not capture, store, nor share facial recognition data.
How to Check In Your Crew
- Once the crew arrives onsite, the individual designated to log the crew’s onsite activity should open the DMG Pro technician app from their phone and locate the job from the My Jobs tab.
- Click on the dropdown arrow next to the job title.
- Click I'm On My Way. [If you have already arrived onsite, the app may detect that you are on the property and prompt you to Check In (step #4 below)].
- Click Check In.
- Click Take Crew Photo.
- Take a photo of the members of your crew. Please note: While we prefer that all individuals onsite are in the picture, if any are not comfortable being on camera, you can take the photo without them and adjust the number of crew members detected once the photo is taken.
- The app will detect the number of individuals in the photo and add an additional number to account for the individual taking the photo. If you need to adjust the number of crew members detected, do so now. Once the correct number of crew members is reflected in the "Total crew members" textbox, click Submit.

- Once the crew photo has been added, continue checking into the job as normal [i.e., finding the issue/impact area(s) onsite, taking before photos, etc.].
