πŸŽ₯ DMG-Initiated Estimate Requests

Estimates is a feature in your DMG Pro Technician app that will bring you more opportunities to partner with DMG and create standalone estimates for your other customers.

Estimates are your opportunity to build out the details (ex., anticipated plan for resolution, projected line items, etc.) that it will take to complete a specific scope of work. This article will walk you through how to respond to estimate opportunities posted by DMG.

Important notes:

  • Only users with the "Admin" and "Foreman" role are able to submit DMG-initiated estimates.
  • DMG-initiated estimates are visible to all Admin and Foreman users from the same provider company
    • DMG will only receive one estimate submission per provider - if an estimate opportunity becomes available for your team, coordinate with one another to build/submit one estimate
  • Additionally, estimates are only available within the DMG Pro Technician app – users do not have access to estimates within their DMG Pro Control Center.

Layout of the Estimates Tab

There are 3 sections within your Estimates tab:

    • Opportunities – where all available DMG-generated estimate requests are listed; Admin and Foreman can choose to submit an estimate for the opportunities they are interested in
    • Submitted – where all of the Admin's or Foreman's submitted estimates are stored
      • This section list both standalone estimates and estimates that were submitted to DMG.
      • The estimates submitted to DMG will disappear from this section once they are either approved or rejected (but your standalone estimates will stay here for you to refer back to)
    • Drafts – where all of your drafted estimates are stored; these estimates have not yet been submitted to DMG

Submitting DMG-Initiated Estimates

  1. If an estimate request is available, it will appear in the "Opportunities" section of your Estimates tab. All of the estimates listed in this section are generated from DMG. Each "Estimate Card" contains key details such as the Estimate Title, customer, service line, address, and hourly labor rate. If you are interested in submitting an estimate, click the Create Estimate button and review the details provided by DMG by clicking Scope & Special Instruction.

  2. You have the option of either submitting a Time & Material estimate or a Flat Rate estimate.

    • If selecting the Time & Material option, enter the following details:
      • Labor: the type (Regular vs Helper) and number of technicians needed and the number of hours each technician would need to complete the work. The first type of technician you are able to add is a Regular Technician - once at least one Regular Technician is added, you can add Helper Technicians. The hourly labor rate is set by DMG, but the total estimated labor cost is calculated:
        • Total Labor Estimate = # of technicians X # of hours X hourly rate
      • Trip: the number of trips estimated. Like labor, the trip rate is set by DMG, but the total estimated trip charge is calculated:
        • Total Trip Estimate = # of trips X trip rate
      • Material & Equipment: while these are not required fields, you are able to specify the type, quantity, unit, and rate information for the materials and equipment you intend to use to complete the work. Search for and select items from our item catalog. If the item is not present, you will be prompted to add a new item directly to your estimate.

    • If selecting the Flat Rate option, enter one flat rate to cover all labor, trip, material, and equipment you intend to use.

    • In either case, enter a detailed solution for how you would resolve the issue in the β€œNotes” text field and add any photos you may have or take to support your estimate submission. If you choose to take photos, use the in-app "Scribble tool" to circle or highlight any specific areas in the photo to draw attention to potential issues and add a comment to each photo.

  3. Once you have entered your rates and notes, you can either save your estimate as a draft* (if not yet ready to submit) or click Generate Estimate (if ready to submit it to DMG for review). Once you click Generate Estimate, your estimate is submitted and visible to DMG.8.0.png
*You can save your work as a draft at any time. The draft will be stored in your "Draft" section of the Estimates tab, which allows you to revisit and complete it later.

  4. Technician Auto Assignment. If your estimate is selected and approved, the job will automatically be assigned to your company - you will not need to manually apply for or accept the job. Instead, the job is automatically assigned to a set of Admins, Technician I's, and Technician II's from your team.
    • The job will be assigned to the maximum number of technicians included in the estimate, and the designation of "Regular Technician" and "Helper Technician" will also be automatically assigned to each.
    • The assigned technicians will see the job listed on the My Jobs tab in their DMG Pro Technician app.
    • If your company wants to specify which members of your team should be assigned to the job, your admin team can modify the job details in their Control Center.

  5. On the scheduled date of completion, the assigned technician(s) should check into and complete the job via their DMG Pro Technician app, following the normal job completion process.

  6. Once the job has been marked complete, your provider office completes the related job invoicing as normal.
